You probably understand that parents tend to go to great lengths to help their little ones stay healthy and strong. If you’re a parent, you know that there are a number of things you can do to help your child stay healthy, but you probably understand that teaching your child beneficial health care habits is extremely important.

When it comes to teaching your children anything, repetition is essential. As a general rule, you’ll need at least 30 days to form a habit. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to avoid these issues. For instance, you could create a chart and put a sticker on it each time your child brushes. This can make brushing more fun while helping them create healthy habits.

You should also help your child make decisions. For instance, let your little one choose their toothbrush, toothpaste, and mouthwash. If your child is involved in the decision to keep their mouth healthy, they’ll be more likely to cooperate when it’s time to brush and floss.

Finally, try to brush when your children are brushing, since children tend to follow the example you show them. One of the best ways to convince your child to brush is to show them that you brush on a regular basis.
