As a concerned parent, we know you want to know all the steps you can take to ensure the health of your child’s smile. That’s why we at St. George Kids Dental are happy to help you with this guide of things you can do to protect your child’s oral health.

Bring your child in for their first visit.
We recommend that you start bringing your child in for dental visits after they turn one, or six months after they’ve developed their first tooth. This initial appointment will be simple, easy and relaxing. It will also give your child a non-threatening introduction to our dental team, and also give you a chance to ask any questions you may have.

Teach your child good oral hygiene habits.
You should teach your child proper oral hygiene habits when they are at a young age. By learning to brush, floss, and rinse on a daily basis, your child will be on the path to sustaining their oral health. Try to make this time fun for them by playing music or turning it into a game! If you get the whole family involved, you can make sure your child not only learns but also has fun doing so.

If you’re not already doing these things, now is a great time to start! If you have any questions about pediatric dentistry in St. George, Utah, please feel free to call St. George Kids Dental in St. George, Utah to schedule an appointment with your dentist, Dr. Trent Pryor.
