Outpatient General Anesthesia

Complex dental treatments can be difficult for some children to handle, which is why Dr. Pryor and Dr. Higbee offer outpatient general anesthesia. Our St. George Kids Dental team will help your child fall asleep and feel comfortable during dental procedures which we generally perform at Zion Surgical Center. Please call our kids’ dentists today if you would like to learn more about our outpatient general anesthesia in St. George, Utah.

If your child needs to have dental work completed, then you will want them to have a calm and comfortable experience. We offer sedation dentistry at our office that helps kids feel relaxed, but our sedation is a conscious sedation and limited to certain procedures. If your child requires an extensive dental treatment that could take a long time, then we offer outpatient general anesthesia. We will visit a local hospital or surgery center so your child can sleep while we perform the needed dental procedures.

General anesthesia is used to put patients to sleep, relax their muscles, and prevent pain. Our trained anesthesiologist knows what dosages are safe to use and will closely monitor the patient’s body functions. With general anesthesia, complex treatments can be simple and more comfortable for patients. Your child may feel a little confused and groggy after the procedure, and they may also sleep a lot afterwards. Please call our dental team today if you would like to learn more about our outpatient general anesthesia and how we use it to help children who need extensive dental work.
